What is success? Is it different from ‘Happiness’? Sometimes… ‘yes’, sometimes… ‘No’!
One day you loose all your money in derby race, Can you call it as Success? No…then can you call it as Happiness? No.
You donate 50% of your wealth as charity, Can you call it as Success? No…then can you call it as Happiness? Yes!!! Big yes! That’s the difference between Success & Happiness!
If you stole somebody else’s idea/innovation, claimed it yours and earned millions out of it! Can you call it as Success? Yes! But then can you call it as Happiness? No! May be that’s another difference between Success & Happiness!
You have put all your efforts over a longer period of time and finally one day all your efforts are paid off! Do you call it as Success? Yes! At the same time can you call it as Happiness too? Yes!
So what is Happiness? Happiness is nothing but Ethical success as well as ethical un-success!
Fair enough? Now let’s assume I am a capitalist. Now being an entrepreneur what is that one thing which I want ultimately? …It’s ‘Profit’!!! Profit in terms of blessing? Profit in terms of Respect? No, it’s in terms of money, incentives & bonus!!! ‘If you are just a successful person but not an ethical one, then people might admire you but they will never respect you!’
In this fast pacing world, the above thought is left behind and people are running over the other people in this society and going ahead. Going ahead with their half knowledge, going ahead with lack of proper information, analysis & intelligence! They are like pushing themselves due to peer pressure! People are hungry to take credits and hence fighting among! Blame game, politics, façade… and you are there on top! You are now a successful person! Now you are the most admirable, you are the most egoistic, senses others like ‘Untouchables’! That’s all? Successful? …yes! Satisfied?...may be think through!
What you will not get here is ‘Perseverance’!!! One day you will be as successful as ‘Sachin Tendulkar’, but it’s difficult to carry it like Sachin, who has been carrying it since last 22 years! That’s because ‘Sachin’ is always in pursuit of ‘happiness’ and not ‘success’!
A Success which has space for money, also has space for comparison, it also has space for expectations which are never ending! It has ego, disrespect, no ethics, no social responsibility, if socially contributing, publicize the same! Such people even compete with their own spouse! Compare themselves with their own cousins and relatives in terms of wealth, overlook companion & be ill-mannered with their juniors! If that’s the kind of success you have achieved in recent past, then it’s immoral to call that part of your life as ‘Happiness’!
A success which doesn’t run after money, ‘you are the most knowledgeable one’ is what being said by others about you and not by yourself!, where you give respect and you receive respect, you share knowledge and you get knowledge, you love others and in turn you get blessings, you put deepest efforts and eventually you are paid off, you earn and give it back to society, you come along and you grow along! If that’s the kind of success you achieve, then that part of your life is called as ‘Genuine!’ That part of your life is called as ‘Legend’! That part of your life is called as ‘Happiness!’
